Excessive vibration can have a direct impact on durability, quality, and noise levels. Modal testing and operational deflection testing measures vibration levels, determines the severity, and pinpoints the cause and effects.
Test data, obtained in the field or in a laboratory setting, is collected and applied to a representative model of the product, subsystem, or structure to understand the behavior of the machine from a vibration standpoint. Simulating the effects of vibration (in an exaggerated animation) provides a visual and quantifiable understanding of the magnitude of vibration. Engineers can then apply and measure the impact of damping, design changes, and other steps taken to lessen its severity.
6D will characterize a structure’s dynamic behavior for vibration problem solution / validation using both experimental and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) technologies. The results from experimental and FEA methods are correlated and analyzed to simulate the design changes to measure its effectiveness as well as to understand the system behavior.
