Proving grounds, used primarily in vehicle industries, is another approach to validation. In such applications simulation is used to help locate data collection instrumentation for Road Load Data Acquisition (RLDA). This allows different types of proving grounds events to be tested.
6D’s involvement can include instrumentation, data collection, and/or the scaling of RLDA data in order to help determine the actual damage of the vehicle.
